Level 42 are absolutely huge. Formed in early 1980, their professionalism and musical sensibilities initially allied them to the nascent British jazz-funk movement before chalking up an impressive run of 29 UK Top 75 singles between 1980 and 1994. The group filled stadiums the world over, and enjoyed unforgettable hits such as Lessons In Love, Running In The Family and Something About You. (back to top)

With a successful recording career spanning over 35 years Moore is one of contemporary Irish music's best-loved singer-songwriters. His stature and influence in folk music is unparalleled. Starting life out as a founder of 70s folk band Planxty and Moving Hearts in the 80s Moore is now best-known as a solo folk singer-songwriter, guitarist and bodhran player. He adds elements of rock and popular music to his well-crafted, tradition-based tunes and has been a major inspiration to modern Irish artists such as U2, Sinead O'Connor and the Pogues.(back to top)

On February 9, 2002, and after 4.6 million votes, British singer Will Young became the winner of Pop Idol, the successful U.K. live entertainment TV show. Soon, his debut single "Anything Is Possible/Evergreen," released on February 25, 2002, became the fastest-selling single in the U.K., an title previously held by Band Aid's 1984 hit "Do They Know It's Christmas?". Young studied politics at Exeter University before moving from Hungerford, Berks, to London. His musical passion grew while studying musical theater at the Arts Educational School in Chiswick. Before making his first record, featuring Westlife's "Evergreen" and "Anything Is Possible," Young performed the Doors classic "Light My Fire" to one of the largest and youngest TV audiences ever.
